Using the practical elements of CBT and mindfulness as well as the depth work of psychodynamic and existential theory, DeAnna’s integrative approach honors each person’s unique story which includes identifying inherent strengths and values to develop a person’s most authentic potential.
Our belief about our self and our world is impacted by our past and present environment as well as our cultural and socioeconomic situation. Our experiences, however difficult, offer wisdom for growth so we can be more than our conditions. DeAnna has enjoyed years of experience helping people from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures and enjoys working with both children and adults.
DeAnna received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Dominican University and her master’s degree in counseling psychology from Argosy University She is currently working on internship hours to become a licensed MFT under the supervision of Regina Archer, LMFT.
DeAnna is certified as a crisis intervention counselor. Her experience also includes over ten years of counseling individuals both male and female as well as their significant others whose lives have been impacted by sexual abuse either in childhood or adulthood. She helps them break out of the silence and shame and move through the aftermath of trauma into healing. She has also advocated for the rights of sexual assault survivors offering guidance through the process of navigating the legal system.
DeAnna’s openness and unconditional caring puts people at ease. She considers it an honor to walk with you on your journey of discovery and healing.
